Buy chicken online from Tom Hixson, and taste chicken sourced from the finest producers, who allow their chickens to roam free, helping them to live a high quality of life. This results in delicious chicken meat that has been hand butchered by our experts, ready for delivery to your door.
We stock a variety of chicken cuts available to buy online including wings, chicken breasts, boneless thighs, and whole roasting joints. For bulk buying, meal prepping and batch cooking, choose our Bulk Chicken Breast Pack, containing approx. 20 to 22 fillets per box. We don’t pump our chicken cuts full of water, which means you’ll still get to enjoy a large chicken cut after the cooking process.
Our Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs are a flavoursome, yet often underrated cut. They are used by chefs due to their superior juiciness and succulence. Skinless chicken thighs can also be browned off first to create a more pronounced taste before you add them to your favourite Warming Winter Casserole, or use them in Chicken and Mushroom Pie.
What Temperature Should Chicken Be Cooked to?
Your chicken should be cooked thoroughly until the internal temperature reaches 75°C. This should be the same for all cuts of chicken including, thighs, wings, and whole roasting joints. Investing in a meat thermometer takes out the guesswork, resulting in perfectly-done chicken and turkey every time. The chicken or turkey juices should also run clear before serving.
How Do You Make Chicken Wings?
Marinating your Jumbo Chicken Wings helps to tenderise the wings, and make them more flavorful. The longer you can leave your chicken in the marinade, the more flavour they soak up, and the more delicious they become. When it comes to flavouring your crispy chicken wings, there are a number of recipes depending on your personal preference. You can opt for the popular BBQ sauce, or a spicy Gochujang marinade for your wings.
If you’re after the classic American dining experience, opt for a buffalo marinade and serve with a tangy blue cheese sauce. Buffalo marinade can be made out of a few simple ingredients, or you can buy our favourite Sauce Shop buffalo sauce, stocked on our website.
How Do You Cook Chicken Kebabs on the BBQ?
First, cut your chicken breasts into rough cubes, and season thoroughly with garlic, smoked paprika, thyme, and honey. Build your kebabs by threading the marinated chicken breast and your favourite vegetables onto the skewers. Oil the bars of your BBQ and add the skewers over medium heat or make sure the coals are ashed over and flames have died down.
Keep turning the skewers every minute or so to ensure they don't burn and move around the grill to a cooler spot if needed. This should take up to about 10 minutes to ensure the chicken and your other ingredients have cooked through and the peppers have softened.
How Long Does it Take to Cook Chicken Thighs?
If you are cooking our Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs, place them in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 180°C. For chicken thighs with the bone in, cook at the same temperature for 25 to 30 minutes. The internal temperature should reach at least 75°C before serving. We wouldn’t recommend going much over this internal temperature, as it could result in dry chicken with less succulence.
How Long Does it Take to Cook Chicken Breasts in the Oven?
Cooking time for Large Chicken Breasts, such as the ones from our master butchers, is 20-25 minutes in an oven at 180°C. If your chicken breasts are under 200 grams each, cook them for around 18 minutes. Once again, the internal temperature of the thickest part of the breast should reach 75°C.
